SOLUTION OVERVIEW
Infor ERP Baan is an extended modular enterprise resource
planning (ERP) solution for mid-market ($50M - >$1B)
manufacturers, primarily in discrete industries such as
industrial machinery and equipment operating job shops, as well
as those with make-to-stock (MTS), assemble-to-order (ATO),
make-to-order (MTO), and engineer-to-order (ETO) processes.
However, the flexibility of the solutions provided has meant
that Infor ERP Baan supports active production in a wide variety
of industries and extensions and provides deep capabilities for
automotive suppliers, process industries, and aerospace and
defense contractors.
Infor ERP Baan runs on open systems platforms (UNIX® , Windows®
, and Linux® ) with a reconfigurable 1,2 3 or mixed/multi server
configuration. The 4GL program code is platform and database
independent (the program code can be transported between
platforms without any recompilation) and supports global
operations with multiple currencies and multiple languages and a
wide variety of country-specific localizations.
The solution offers deep capabilities in project-based
industries and those requiring complex configurations (embedded
product configurator).
A unique feature is the embedded Dynamic Enterprise Modeller
(DEM), which is a graphical enterprise process modelling tool
that allows complex business processes to be modelled in the
application and used to configure user desktops and that can be
interface to the system. With change control, the DEM supports
implementation and ongoing organizational process development.
