Corporate Social Responsibility in Ygl

Since 2008, Ygl has a team of colleagues responsible to realize the CSR spirit of YGL in Hong Kong.

For the elderly services, Ygl engaged in a multi-phases e-government project for the Licensing Office of Residential Cares Home for the Elderly, Hong Kong Social Welfare Department. Furthermore, we designed an innovative Elderly Management Systems for a reputable non-profit organization in Hong Kong.

Ygl applied the state-of-the-art Business Process Management Systems (BPMS) as the foundation of the solution in order to reduce 5 times the development times and effort for the customers and further designed an Operational BI and Analytic Systems for the management and officers to react on real-time data effectively.

In the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2011, Ygl will organize a variety of road show with the support of government officers and NGO in Hong Kong and Macau to promote the potential usage of BPMS and BI enabled solutions for their daily operation. YGL will allocate additional resources to serve this market for the benefit of the society.

Community Services for Youth

Our colleagues, Mr. Simon Lui, Mr. Patrick Fu, Mr. Aaron Hui and Mr. Raymond Man are the core members to support a variety of NGO as well as Social Enterprises in Hong Kong.  Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JA) is our preferred partner, and we supported it since 2008.

JA is a Member Nation of Junior Achievement Worldwide, the largest and fastest growing educational non-profit organization in the world, dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. Since its establishment in 2001, JA has partnered with over 500 companies and 400 schools. More than 8,300 business volunteers participated in the programs to serve over 100,000 students.

Junior Achievement programs are based on proven curricula to serve students of all ages at different life-defining stages. Students from primary school into Tertiary develop their decision-making abilities, creativity, and leadership through hands-on lessons in business and economics.

Programs are designed under the 4 key pillars: Work Readiness, Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy, and Essential Life-wide Values.

JA New Leaders Programme

NLP s a continuous activity-based curriculum designed to provide students with learning on Ethical Leadership in the new century. It is made up of six standalone half-day workshops (one for each form from F.1 to F.6). Students of each form will work in groups of around 20 people, led by 2 business volunteers, who will conduct activities that are appropriate for their age groups. Activities include role-plays, scenario discussions and simulation games.

JA Company Programme

Under the guidance of volunteer business advisers, students form a mini-corporation and operate a company as much as they would in the real world. Students elect officers, develop business plans, sell stock, produce and market real products or services, keep records, conduct stockholders’ meetings, and liquidate the company, all in about 18 weeks. The Winning team of the JA Company of the Year 2010 was mentored by two (2) business advisers. Mr. Aaron Hui is the representative of Ygl. In 2011, Mr. Simon Lui and Mr. Aaron Hui will represent Ygl to support the JA CP again.
